Hello doctor,

My daughter is 6 years old. She is often prone to cold and fever during rainy and winter seasons. Our doctor says to improve her immunity through proper diet. We are vegetarians, but I am planning to give her eggs. Lots of people are telling lots of ideas, and I am confused. I need a proper diet plan to improve her immunity. Please help me with a good dietary plan for her. Also, shall we add millets in her routine diet?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I suggest the following diet for your daughter. The alternative foods are also mentioned below. 1. Early Morning: 7 AM - Hot milk with turmeric one glass or warm milk with half spoon Baidyanath chyawanprash or juice of tulsi leaves and one tablespoon honey mixture or soaked almond plus soaked bengal gram four piece each. 2. Breakfast: 8.30 AM - Spinach paratha plus gravy or sandwich with boiled spinach, tomato, and cucumber or upma with vegetables like bell peppers, broccoli, garlic and ginger. 3. Mid-morning: 11 AM - Any citrus fruit juice like lemon, orange, limes, grapefruit and papaya. 4. Lunch: 1.30 PM - rice or roti with egg curry or paneer or mushroom curry or colorful vegetable curry with dal water and sour curd. 5. Evening snacks 5.30 PM - Vegetable stew or blueberry smoothy or egg sandwich or chow mein with colorful vegetables. 6. Dinner: 8.30 PM - Roti or rice or oatmeal with vegetables or vegetable curry. 7. Include vegetables like pumpkin, bell peppers, carrot, beans, spinach, peas, broccoli, etc. 8. Admit your child in yoga class. It is the best way to improve immunity with maintaining good diet chart. 9. Ask her to take more water in a day and regular meal in small quantity. 10. Yes, you can add millet in her diet.
