What are the treatments for lower back pain?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from lower back discomfort for the past six hours, and I cannot even move my hip. I was walking today when I suddenly felt severe pain in my lower back. I have been in bed since that moment. For the past six days, I have been walking almost entirely on one leg without any extra assistance. I have a ligament issue in my right leg, so I have avoided putting weight on it. I did not run but instead put very little weight on my right leg.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

According to your background, having ligament pain and walking solely on the other sound leg is irrelevant. Because you must bear your body's weight on both legs; otherwise, standing or walking on one leg may place undue pressure on the limb's joints, potentially leading to various difficulties. So, first and foremost, the ligament lesion must be addressed with a 15-day physiotherapy session. Try not to put a strain on just one leg and walk with a crutch or cane stick. Perform an active hip joint with a long down and hip lifted to 90 degrees, as well as rotation movement. Correct your posture, and begin with partial weight bearing on both legs. Do not limp, and do active assisted exercises.

I hope that you got your answer.

Please let me know if you want some help.

Thank you.
