Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have pain in my lower back and around the top of my hips. My aunt, a massage therapist, checked me out and told me that one of my hips is higher than the other. The pain began around eight months ago and I just cannot keep spending money on the chiropractor. But, the pain has been getting much worse lately. What can I do?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
First of all, you need to do an x-ray. So that, we can get confirmation regarding the status of the hip joint. As per your complaint, you might be having a leg length discrepancy. The pain is due to the shortening of one of your leg bones. So, there is hip hiking.Because of shortening, your lower back muscles might have gone into shortening.
I suggest you apply a hot pack for pain relief and stretching exercises for a temporary purpose.
Lie flat on a mat. Bring a towel and put that on your affected leg. Pull the ends of the towel with your hand towards your body, so that you can feel a stretch in the back of your leg and up to your lower back.
