Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I did squats during my gym session and developed pain in my hips and knees. But the pain is severe in my hips. The pain is persistent and does not go away. It has been there for the past four days. However, the pain has reduced a bit, but it is still there. What to do?
Please give your suggestions.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
The pain is likely due to muscle soreness and typically occurs following a hard training session. So do not worry. However, I suggest you to follow the instructions mentioned below,
1. Icing is effective in reducing pain, so continue icing on the painful area frequently every 10 minutes for two hours.
2. Massage gently over the painful region.
3. Do mild stretches to relax your butt and thigh muscles.
4. Use a foam roller on the painful region for a few minutes.
If you feel you have severe soreness, I suggest you to visit your physician and get prescribed for taking a single dose of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication.
I hope this was helpful.
Kindly revert if you need further clarification.
