Can I increase my height after 22 with meds and workouts?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My height is five feet, and I want to increase it to at least five feet and seven inches. So what kind of diet and medicine is to be taken?

I am a 22-year-old and five feet in height. I have not taken any medication or gotten treatment. Is it possible to increase height after age 22 with medicine and workout?

Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You can choose healthy food choices and reach the required calorie count. It would be helpful. Medications have excess side effects. It is better to consult with a dietician in person. Till then, I suggest you follow these steps :

1. High protein diet including almonds, six pieces of walnuts per day, vegetables, paneer, soya, and tofu.

2. Include chia seeds and flax seeds.

3. Follow the same workout regime planks, swimming, or basketball.

4. Increase fluid intake.

5. Take rest and 8 to 9 hours of sleep.

6. Manage stress with meditation.

7. Do breathing exercises.

8. Manage to follow small, frequent meals.

9. Take 2400 calorie diet, carbs-40 %, protein-40 %, fat-20 %, and increase fiber intake up to 30 % of your diet.

10. If required, add a protein supplement for height growth.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
