Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Before a few days, I got a hit in my finger with a tennis ball. I am not able to hold my finger from that time. I thought it was normal and applied ice over it. Also, I am using an ointment given by the doctor. It has been two days now and still, I am not able to fold my fingers. As there are three joints in my finger, I am getting pain in my middle joint when my parents do some massage with ice on it. Please help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. First of all, after applying ice for 10 to 15 minutes ask someone to hold your finger from your hand to the first joint. As there are three joints in the finger, ask them to move the first joint slowly without disturbing the second joint and do the same with the second joint by holding the first and third joint. Repeat it at least four times a day. If you are unable to do movements, you can use a single-finger grip and it helps in the immobility of fingers. You can use paraffin wax while doing physiotherapy treatment. Melt the wax and apply it to the finger for ten minutes. I hope that these remedies will provide you with some relief from pain and gives mobility to the fingers. Have a follow-up after a week.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
