Patient's Query
Hello Doctor,
I am 15 years old, and I have really poor eating habits. I feel low or down sometimes, and I usually eat only two bites of dinner. I just do not enjoy my mother's cooking.
Can you please help me?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have read your query and can understand your concern.
The actual concern is not entirely clear, as important details such as height and weight were not mentioned. If there is an issue related to poor appetite, the following dietary and lifestyle suggestions may help: Begin the day with a healthy breakfast that includes whole grain cereals, yogurt, or bread with peanut butter, along with fresh fruits. Consume small and frequent meals. Aim for 4 to 6 smaller meals throughout the day instead of large portions at once. Include healthy snacks in the diet, such as bananas, nuts, or popcorn. Incorporate favorite foods into the daily meal plan to make eating more enjoyable. Use herbs and spices in cooking to enhance aroma and flavor. Examples include cinnamon, cardamom, and black pepper. Reduce the intake of high-fiber foods, especially green leafy vegetables, if they cause early satiety. Light physical activity or exercise may help stimulate appetite naturally. Ensure adequate hydration by drinking sufficient water, preferably around 30 minutes after meals. Aim for approximately 8 glasses of water per day. Avoid eating in isolation. Sharing meals with family or friends may encourage better food intake. Avoid alcohol consumption, smoking, and a sedentary lifestyle, as these may negatively affect appetite and overall health. Include a variety of fruits throughout the day, such as cucumbers, bananas, pineapples, and pears.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
