Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am facing some internal issues for one month. As I exhale, some crackling sound occurs from my chest. I consulted a heart specialist and have done my 2-D echocardiogram test plus EKG test, but everything seems fine, the doctor said. Then I took a chest X-ray, and my chest X-ray was also fine. So I do not know how to treat this issue.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your concern.

In my opinion, that cracking sound could be from joints of the thorax since you ruled out internal organ issues. The cracking sounds could also be due to air spaces inside the lungs, and certain phenomenon causes those sounds due to fluid movement or opening of air spaces. I would advise you to consult a pulmonologist to rule out lung conditions that sometimes produce cracking sounds. Those are treatable with medications. So nothing to worry about.

As of now, I would recommend you to:

Do deep breathing exercises.

Do thoracic mobility exercises.

Like cat and camel, thoracic mobilization on the foam roller. Thoracic rotations on lying and half-kneeling. You can refer online for positions and execution. I hope this is helpful to you.

Kindly revert if you wish to have any further information in this regard.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
