Does an extra projection where thoracic segments meet the lumbar vertebrae indicate a tumor?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a healthy 26-year-old healthy female. I have been going to the chiropractor for a few months three times a week, and now once a week. Recently I had a projection where my thoracic segments met my lumbar. It was originally kind of bulging out and tender to the touch. I told my chiropractor about this and he adjusted it. Now it is much more in line, not bulging, and does not hurt unless I touch it. Do I need to worry about this? Is it a tumor or something very scary? Should I go to a doctor to get more tests done?

Kindly help.

Hello,

I appreciate that you have chosen icliniq.com for your medical needs.

I am here to give you the best care possible.

Well, that is good that your chiropractor has done a great job by decreasing your pain. But are you sure about the origin and cause of the pain yet? I think your chiropractor must have told you about the X-ray status if that would have been more serious. It is always safe to go for a second option. So you should start focusing on your posture. Practice wall sliding exercises. You can go for a physiotherapy session.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
