This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am good, but I did something bad that damaged my brain in the past. I have left what I did before and now feel brain-damaged. I am not using my brain. I cannot think at all. I cannot process information.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to the icliniq.com,

I understand that you feel concerned about your condition.

For this purpose, you can go to a psychologist clinic that will administer standardized tools and consider the entire history plus clinical judgment to diagnose your condition.

The Probable causes -

Brain damage is caused by internal or external trauma, drug use, radiation, injury, or something lethal to the human brain.

Investigations to be done-

Reports of brain scan (MRI, CT Scan, or Pet Scan) as recommended by a specialist (neurologist).

Details about the brain areas damaged and what brain processes or functioning have been affected by the damage.

Probable diagnosis -

Insufficient information to diagnose.

Treatment plan-

As your brain scan shows normal results, you attach the reports and consult a psychologist for further help.

Also, specify the areas which you want to improve through counseling/psychotherapy.

Preventive measures -

I appreciate that you consulted as you found difficulty in processing. Do start your treatment at your earliest.

Research has shown that there are more chances of improvement if the treatment is started at the initial stage when symptoms develop.

Regarding follow up -

I hope this information is helpful to you. Do take follow-up if you feel the need.

Thank you.
