Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I injured my Achilles tendon. I am a football player, and one day after training, I had mild pain in my Achilles. The next day at training, it started to hurt more. I woke up with pain in my Achilles tendon the next morning. I also have this weird feeling like traction or humming in my tendon while moving my foot up and down. Is this fine? I started to foam roll and stretch. It has been three days now. How long should I rest and how can it be fixed? I also have had patellar tendonitis for a few years now, could it be because of that? Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
We welcome you to the icliniq.com family.
I appreciate the confidence you place in me for your healthcare consultation.
In my opinion, you have strained your calf muscles. I recommend you continue applying ice frequently, like once every two hours, for 15 minutes. Gently massage over the calf and Achilles tendon. Gently stretch the calf with the knee straight, and do knee-bend calf-stretch. Sometimes, it may take two weeks to reduce the strain. If you continue doing the above-mentioned process, you will recover faster. After pain reduction, I suggest doing some exercises to increase your ankle stability.
I hope that you get your answer.
Please let me know if you want some help.
Thank you.
