Dr. Dina Guzman finished her BSc pre-medical course at the University of Santo Tomas. She studied medicine at the same university and completed her medical post-graduate internship at the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH). She passed the Medical Board Licensure Examination (October 31, 1973). She has worked in government hospitals for 35 years as a General Practitioner in a rural emergency hospital to medical specialist III in a tertiary teaching and training medical center (MS Anesthesia or MS III Chief Training Officer and OIC Chief of Clinics); handled hospital programs on HIV or AIDS and family planning lectures. She was also a surgical team member and gave counseling to staff, trainees, and patients. She has also provided assistance in medical missions like “Operation Smile” conducted in the hospital; and public health radio communications out-reach programs (DWPE: Health is Wealth). She earned her MPH at UP-College of Public health (UP-CPH) as a SEAMEO (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization) scholar. She has earned Career Executive Service Eligibilities (CSEE) by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and CESE by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP).
