Constipation is a common problem in children. It is usually temporary and is caused by early toilet training, sudden diet change, stress, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and fatty or spicy food. The symptoms that indicate that your child has constipation are:
· Bowel movement less than 3 times a week.
· Hard and dry stools that is difficult to pass.
· Pain or bleeding during passing stools.
· Stomach pain.
Constipation can be treated by giving your child more liquids, fiber-rich diet, more physical activity, and by following a regular meal schedule.
