The group of disease that affects the retina that is present at the back of the eye and the vitreous fluid around it is called vitreoretinal disease. The eye conditions included are macular degeneration, retinal tear or retinal detachment, macular hole, uveitis, and diabetic retinopathy. The symptoms of vitreoretinal diseases are night blindness, eye floaters, eye pain, sudden vision loss, light sensitivity, distorted central and peripheral vision, and seeing flashes of light in the eyes. These conditions are severe and might cause blindness. Depending on the condition, medication or surgery is done to treat this disease.
