In cataract, the clear lens of the eye becomes cloudy and causes vision problems. The manual small incision cataract surgery (MSICS) is a type of sutureless cataract surgery, that removes the cloudy and dense lens of the eye. Here, the entire lens is taken out through a self-sealing scleral tunnel, which is watertight and does not require suturing. This procedure is performed either under local or topical anesthesia. A small incision is made on the sclera through which the instruments are inserted. As this method does not need suturing, the recovery time and complications are comparatively less.
