Seborrheic keratosis is a noncancerous skin growth, which is commonly seen in older adults. It usually looks like waxy, slightly elevated, and brown or black growth. They are commonly seen on the face, shoulder, chest, and back. They are usually painless and do not become cancerous. The exact cause is still not known, but it is believed to be caused by sunlight, genetics, and old age. Seborrheic keratosis requires no treatment but can be removed for cosmetic purpose. The ways to remove this lesion are cryosurgery, curettage, and ablation.
