Developmental coordination disorder is characterized by a lack of coordination between mental intention and physical action. Although the brain knows the action, it cannot send the instructions correctly, leading to poor performance of tasks. It is also known as clumsy child syndrome. It is characterized by unsteady walk, difficulty climbing stairs, inability to hold objects, tripping, problem performing day-to-day activities, writing, drawing, and using scissors.
