Which is the best weight gain supplement for a 23-year-old?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 23-year-old guy. My height is approximately 5 feet 5 inches, and my weight is about 123.5 pounds. I want to gain weight and build muscles too.

Even though I exercise and take healthy foods, it makes my muscles tight, but it does not show any sign of enlarging or building up.

I heard about an Ayurvedic medicine. Can I build my muscles and gain weight by using it without having any side effects? Are there any other ways to gain weight? Which current options would be suitable for me?

Please advise.

Hi,

I appreciate that you have chosen icliniq.com for your medical needs.

I am here to give you the best care possible.

First of all, let me tell you that you are lucky to have such a balanced weight. Your BMI should be around 23.

To increase your weight and muscle mass, you have to work out and take protein supplements. A lot of them are available in the market. When you consume them, you must exercise, or else you will not develop muscle mass. Eating bananas helps in rapid weight gain. You can try that too.

You can add eggs to your diet. If you want to take more than one egg daily, then discard the yolk and consume only the white portion. Eggs are rich in protein and are easily digested. Be sure to take adequate fiber in your diet, as protein supplements can cause constipation. Green leafy vegetables are rich in fiber.

I hope you have a clear idea of how to build muscle mass now. But do not worry about your weight. I assure you that you have an excellent weight. I did my thesis on obesity, so I know the ill effects of being overweight. I am also 5 feet 5 inches tall and am trying to reduce my weight to 132 pounds, but I always remain between 145 to 150 pounds.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.

Thank you.
