How does keeping weed in the home impact our health?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My husband keeps weed at home. He says it is good for health. Please tell me,

  1. How does it affect our health?
  2. Is weed or hash good for health?

Kindly guide.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

In general, people think that weed plants are useless. Sometimes, such useless plants may be a danger to our health, too. I will explain it below. The disadvantages of weeds are as follows:

  • If the weed has a hairy structure, it can cause allergy to our skin (if we touch it).
  • If the weed has many flowers with pollen, it may cause pollen allergy (respiratory allergy) in some people. It is not for all.
  • Small insects and bugs get settled in the weed bush, and these insects may cause skin allergies to us if we get in touch with them.
  • Small kids, if they consume it, then it may be a hazard to their health.

The following are the advantages:

  • If the weed has some medicinal use, then it can be used for our personal use (as a diet or drug).
  • If the weed is an endangered species, then it should be protected.
  • If the weed has no hairy structure, then it is harmless. Many butterflies and rockets settle in it; we are preserving an ecosystem.

The plants (green leaves) are the real natural air conditioner for us. It gives cool air, emits more oxygen for us, absorbs Carbon dioxide, etc. My advice: Please take the plant leaf withthe flower and show it to a botanist. Find out its botanical name and uses. If it is useful, then maintain it with you. If not useful, but not harmful to us, then we can keep it. If it is harmful, then it can be removed. Everything depends on what plant it is.

I hope this information helps you.

Feel free to ask further queries.

Thank you.
