Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I took an oral emergency contraceptive pill a month ago and then again another pill 15 days after that. I started having some spotting on the seventh day from the second dose of oral contraceptive. Everyday I am having a little bleeding when I work out at the gym or masturbate. The bleeding is not even stopping and is not even happening properly like periods. The blood is deep brown in color. Please help me and suggest some medicine that would help in stopping the periods, clearing my uterus, and then having it next month on time and properly. Previously, when I took oral emergency contraceptives, I faced no problems. I am very worried and not feeling well because of it.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Emergency contraceptive pills consumption can cause irregular periods and you are facing the same problems that occur with the consumption of oral contraceptives. May I know what was your last date of periods before these last two doses? If I get to know the answer to my question I will be able to comment on the issue.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

My last period date was five days before I took the first contraceptive pill. Please help me and suggest some medication.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

If it was the beginning of your periods then you were safe for first intercourse. But you had sexual intercourse again after 14 days so the chances of failure of pregnancy are also there. Before starting medicine you should check for a pregnancy test. I can suggest medicine in the reply itself but you will have to consult a specialist to be more sure. You can take antifibrinolytics like tablets of Tranexamic acid and Mefenamic acid combination for the initial days to stop bleeding and get a report done to know about any chance of pregnancy. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with their consent.

I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
