Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a reserved type of boy, aged 26 years. My problem is I fear everything, something restricting me speak openly with people. I will not go out with friends or family and can not enjoy music, dance, or celebration. My inner heart always feels hard, and I always think about something. Now I have lost desire; I do not have the excitement to feel pleasant happy jolly life. Even though I lost sexual desires, I do not know why I am so hesitant to live life freely. Please guide me with the right solution.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand that you feel concerned about your inability to get socially involved with people and enjoy things.

There might be past negative experiences behind such condition. For example, family environment, failures, punishments, or negative social experiences might cause social inhibitions and fears. It is essential to investigate the duration of symptoms you are experiencing. For example, how long have you been feeling fearful and lacking pleasure?

You are strongly suggested to visit a psychologist in your nearby area for face-to-face sessions. First, a complete psychological assessment is required for your diagnosis. Second, you need complete psychotherapy, preferably cognitive behavior therapy, to overcome your anxieties and fears. Do take follow-up if you feel the need.

I hope you find it helpful.

Kind regards.

Differential diagnosis

The differential diagnosis is social anxiety or avoidant personality which needs to be distinguished (only by professionals).

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
