Why do I feel uncomfortable among people?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I feel weird when I am among people. I get scared sometimes. On some occasions, my mind is just blank. I do not know what to say in response, and when the conversation ends, I feel like I should have to say something good. These things depress me more.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your problem. You seem to have social anxiety or anxious personality traits. This is one of the most common psychiatric problem people usually encounter but there is always a solution to every problem. Yours also has a solution. There is a therapy called exposure therapy. The more you would be exposed, the less fear you have. Apart from them, learn some soft skills and social skills. They will also help you. If nothing seems to be helping, medicine can be started which would treat all your problems.

Thank you.
