Hi doctor,
I have been experiencing shortness of breath for the past few weeks. I want to note that I have been a smoker for a decade, starting at 18 and now 28 years old, though I never had any problematic symptoms until recently. Last weekend, my mom went to the hospital after experiencing health issues for months. She was diagnosed with pneumonia and prescribed an antibiotic, which unfortunately did not yield the desired results. Today, she returned to the hospital and will be staying for 48 hours. She has been given two different antibiotics as a new treatment approach, and her recent CT scan showed no abnormalities. I visited her about five weeks ago, prior to her experiencing these health issues. Is it a cause for concern that I might be at risk of developing the same condition as her?
