Hi doctor,

My back is curving to the left and I have pain throughout the ribs of the vertebrae. My right knee hurts with the spine that connects to the hips. I have a constant dull pain on sitting down with my legs flat and bending over amplifies the pain.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You have scoliosis in your spine. It is caused due to various reasons. Doing a couple of corrective exercises can help. I recommend you to meet a good physiotherapist who is experienced in scoliotic corrective exercise. Come back to me with an X-ray to help with good rehabilitation protocol. Keep icing the areas of pain. Lie down over the pillow on the opposite side of the bend.

In your case, you need to keep a pillow on the right lower rib cage and lie sideways over it. So, the structures on the left side get stretched. Maintain this position for a while. Do a couple of exercises on the quadratus lumborum. Do some breathing exercises with stretches to reduce the muscle strain and it helps to improve joint range. Nothing to be worried and it gets resolved with proper care and support. Hope this is helpful for you.
