What is the treatment of PCOS/PMOS?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a lean woman with PCOS/PMOS. My BMI is very low. So recently, I started to notice some facial hair on my chin, which may be related to my PCOS/PMOS. So, how can I eat better to improve my BMI to normal level without triggering PCOS/PMOS? I wanted to eat oatmeal, but they said it increases insulin and I should not eat bread too. So I am confused about what to eat. I would appreciate it if anyone could help me with this problem.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I understand your detailed history, which is beneficial for the nutritional assessment. I am a professional surgeon and nutrition specialist who can help you address your PCOS/PMOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome/polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome) concerns.

If there are any blood reports that you can enclose, the latest ones or which are done over the last six months, I can give you a detailed diet chart on how best to prevent all these hormonal fluctuations, which can set your health on track completely. It is essential that you know that diet can do wonders in correcting PCOS/PMOS.

So I can give or prescribe a professional chart for you to implement. Let me know if you have the blood reports so I can study them and give you the chart and diet. Eating bread or oats again depends on the vitamin intake, and you need to be assessed by the blood reports.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
