Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Over the last ten days, I have been having muscle twitching in my calves, sometimes my thighs, and now quite intensely in my left upper forearm near the elbow crease. Is this cause for concern or normal?
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Muscle twitching, or fasciculations, can occur for various reasons, including stress, fatigue, dehydration, or electrolyte imbalances. However, if you are experiencing twitching that is persistent, intense, or accompanied by other symptoms like weakness, numbness, or pain, it might be worth consulting a healthcare professional in person for proper assessment. They can evaluate your symptoms in the context of your overall health and provide guidance. It is always best to err on the side of caution when it comes to changes in your body. You might be required to go through some blood tests and imaging, which can be suggested after consulting in person.
I hope this information helps you.
