Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I fell from the stairs yesterday night. I have light pain in my hip bone when I bend forward, lift weight or climb stairs, but I can sit or stand easily. Is this a serious condition? Can I take painkillers?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq. com.

It looks like you have suffered from an injury around the hip, lower back, and superficial areas of the pelvis. I suggest you get an X-ray done as soon as possible to rule out any bony injury. In the meantime, I suggest you do the following:

  1. Avoid bending forward, squatting, and cross-leg sitting.
  2. You can apply an ice pack to the affected area.
  3. Take rest and do not move.
  4. Watch for increased swelling, excessive pain, toe or finger discoloration, and fever. If present, visit the nearest hospital immediately.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
