Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My daughter has been holding her ears for almost four months, but recently it has gotten worse. When she holds her ears, she holds them so hard she shakes. She screams and cries. She had four hearing tests done, and the results came back to each test as noisy. When I asked the doctor what that meant exactly, she said she really did not know. Can you tell me what that means? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

As you reported about four tests which were these four tests and their details. The term noisy comes in the OAE (otoacoustic emission) test only. Further, whatever symptoms you are mentioning about your daughter can either be sudden tolerance issues to loud sounds, it can be recruitment, or it can be behavioral issues. Kindly consult a proper ear specialist and an audiologist and perform a BERA (brain-evoked response auditory) test and special tests to rule out all the possibilities. Kindly share the reports so that I can get a better idea. I hope I have cleared your doubts.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
