Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 19-year-old male. I have had hair fall for the past five years, and I have developed an M-shaped pattern on my frontline. I have anxiety, and my head feels very burdened. Sometimes, I feel dizzy, and sometimes, I have white spots coming from my eyes. I have anxiety even for simple tasks. When someone shouts at me, my head bursts out. I started to have anxiety from my puberty. I took Minoxidil topical solution two years and discontinued it. Why do I have this problem of hair fall and anxiety? How can I check my levels of anxiety? Please help me.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
M-shaped baldness occurs due to the hormone dihydrotestosterone which is a metabolite of testosterone. In some people, there is a peripheral conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. It is more common in some persons, and it is usually genetically determined. This particular hormone is responsible for baldness. Regarding anxiety, it can be due to some hormonal imbalance like thyroid, or it can be due to genetics and heredity. To manage it, you can do yoga, meditation, deep breathing exercise and you can follow sleep hygiene. There is a need to assess the level of anxiety in detail. I would advise you to consult a psychiatrist soon.
Thank you.
