Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Is it true that if you press all the way down on the epididymis with your thumb for 5 to 10 seconds it will damage the coils, and cause fertility issues?

Kindly help.

Answered by Dr. Sugreev Singh

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

No, it will not cause anything, the epididymis is elastic in nature so when it gets pressed it does not get affected, pressing it will not lead to infertility as well. Injury to the testis can lead to infertility and other symptoms but pressing by thumb cannot cause anything. I have a few questions for you.

  1. Did you press it very hard?
  2. Do you feel any pain?
  3. Is there any swelling?
  4. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I have pain after 5 to 8 seconds.

Glad to have you back!

I am here to help you get the best medical advice. The pain can is due to that press, so nothing to worry. I would suggest you take tablets of Aceclofenac and Paracetamol once a day after a meal.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
