Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Is it happening for the first time? Do you have same history in the past? Are your eyes red or painful? Please answer these questions so that I can prescribe you drops as early as possible and you will feel better.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

This has not happened before. My eyes are not red. It feels uncomfortable, watery and feels kind of puffy and burns or stings slightly.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As you said it is the first time, so no need to worry about it. You will be completely all right with eye drops in a few days. It is looking so because your cornea got dry that is nothing serious. You have to use Carboxy methylcellulose eye drops for five days. One drop in both the eyes six times a day. So your eyes will get moisturized and your discomfort will be relived. Just use these eye drops and let me know after five days.

Avoid using contact lenses.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I wanted to go head and follow up. I have been doing the eye drops. Yesterday my eye felt the best it has felt and I thought maybe it was returning to normal. I did do less drops because of that. Well this morning I woke up with a really dry eye again. This scared me. I know it has not been a full 5 days but will I be dependent on the drops forever or do I need to be more patient and give it time. Maybe it is time to have my eye looked at?

Please help.

Hello

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I told you to use eye drops six times a day for five days right. After that we will taper it. In a day how many times you are putting drops in your eyes? And do not worry you will be fine but it will take few more days so you should use the eye drops as I said you before. Every two hourly one drop is compulsory and would not be depend upon drops no need to worry.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

The first two days I put drops about six times a day yesterday was maybe more like two or three times. I will do as you say and put drops six times a day for the next couple of days. Also. My eye is not red or anything but I have noticed that when my eye is dry the color part (iris) of my eye seems slightly bigger. I kind of noticed that the first couple of days but was unsure. Yesterday it looked normal but this morning I feel like it has that slightly bigger look again.

Please suggest.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No, it would not happens like that because iris will be not affected in dry eyes. But still if you have same problem again just take one photo of it and send it to me so that if something is major we can cure it after proper diagnosis. Anytime you can consult me for any doubt I will be available for you. Use the same drops for three more days six times a day after that just inform me how is your condition depending upon that we can plan further.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for replying.

Yes, I have been using the drops. My eye feels better during the day. But I have been waking up with a dry burning eye in the middle of the night for the past few nights. I have to use drops in order to go back to sleep. What to do?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I think your sleeping position is not proper. That is why you are having this night time dryness issue. Otherwise it would not happen. Are you sleeping directly under AC or directly under fan? How is the ventilation in your room?

Kindly update with the above answers.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
