Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My 46-year-old husband dropped weight and is now taking a lot of supplements. I believe it is because of weight loss. He dropped a lot of weight immediately. Now, he takes a dietary supplement every day. Is it safe to take this many supplements? He was never obese, but today he is quite skinny. Someone suggested about brown adipose tissue, but I do not understand. Is brown adipose tissue important? Is it possible for obesity to induce such dramatic weight loss? I am concerned about his health with all of these dietary supplements.
Kindly help.

Brown fat (brown adipose tissue) is a type of body fat that regulates your body temperature in cold conditions. Brown fat activates right before you start to shiver. Brown fat also burns calories and stores energy. You have a small percentage of brown fat in your body compared to white fat. Exposing your body to cool and even cold temperatures may help recruit more brown fat cells. You can take a cold shower or ice bath.
Obesity is harmful in many ways need to assess him for his body requirements and then take the call.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Take care.
Thank you.
