Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 21 year old married woman. I did not get my periods for the past three months. I took a pregnancy test and it came as negative. I have hypothyroidism. I am overweight 209 lbs and my height is 5'2". I also have PCOS. I am trying to conceive. Please suggest me some advice.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The solution to your problem is to control your weight and thyroid status. This will not only make your cycles regular, but will also help in correcting PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). Your BMI (body mass index) is 35.3, which falls in the category of morbid obesity. I suggest you consult your gynecologist for withdrawal bleeding and then take pills for regularizing periods and simultaneously work on your weight control. I also suggest you get an ovulation study done.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
