Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My partner’s period was three days later than the expected date. She had bleeding for two days. The bleeding stopped on the third day and resumed again on the fourth day. The bleeding was there for three days in total. We did not have any sexual intercourse last month. We hugged each other with clothes on, and my clothes were pre-ejaculated. There was no penetration or ejaculation inside the vagina. She is not taking any medications. She is having body pain, tiredness, and chest heaviness from yesterday. Is it normal for bleeding to stop after two days and then resume? Can we consider this as a normal period? Is there any chance of pregnancy? Can pre-ejaculate move through clothes and cause pregnancy?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

The chances of pregnancy are nil, as there was no sexual intercourse. You need not worry about that. As far as the period is concerned, it has come four days late. So you need to have some investigations done. The cause of your delayed period may be due to stress, anemia, thyroid dysfunction, or endometriosis. I would suggest you get the following tests done.

  1. Complete blood count.

  2. Serum TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone).

  3. Ultrasound of lower abdomen.

She is advised to have a good nutritious diet with high protein and green leafy vegetables.

Please report back the above test results.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

Can the pre-ejaculate move through six layers of clothing and get into her vagina while hugging? We were not having sex, no penetration, and did not remove our clothes. Her periods came for two days, stopped for two days, and then again came for one day. With this can we rule out the chance of pregnancy?

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Monica Mathur

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The chances of pregnancy are negligible in such cases. There is no chance for pregnancy in hugging. I have earlier mentioned that the changes in a menstrual period may indicate certain causes for which the above tests are required. Please revert to that.

Do let me know if you have any other queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Her periods were there for two days and then stopped for two days. It again came back and lasted for three days. Blood flow was normal, as she used to have earlier. With this period can we rule out the chance of pregnancy? Can you please suggest a diet for solving hormonal imbalances?

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Monica Mathur

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The irregularities in her period are due to hormonal changes. There is no chance of pregnancy, which is clear. The appearance of period itself is a clear indication that she is not pregnant. There is no particular diet as such for hormonal imbalance. As this irregular cycle has occurred once you can expect normalcy in the next cycle. I suggest you take one teaspoon of syrup M2 tone (Non-hormonal menstrual modulator) twice a day for one month.

I hope this information helps provide some insight into your symptoms.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

She is feeling tired, and her breasts are slightly swollen. Is this because of hormonal imbalance? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Please take the medicine prescribed. If the problem still persists, then she can get other investigations done.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Her period came last month and lasted only for three days. This week she is having a thick, dark yellow discharge, not smelly. What could be the reason for this? Kindly suggest a solution for this. Her parents would not take her to a hospital. In the last month, her periods were four days late. Previously she used to have four to five-day periods. Now, for the last two months, she has been having periods for three days. Is that fine?

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Monica Mathur

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com

The cause of a thick yellow discharge may be fungal vaginitis. This usually occurs due to low immunity. I suggest to get the following test done:

1. Complete blood count

2. Serum TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) test done.

I would suggest you take the following medicine: Tablet Forcan (Fluconazole) 150 mg on alternate days for one week. Consult your doctor and take the medicine accordingly. Have a good nutritious diet and eat green leafy vegetables.

I hope this information helps provide some insight into your symptoms.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

During these three days of periods, her blood flow was fine. Five days after her period, she got this thick yellow discharge without any smell. Kindly suggest any remedy for this.

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Monica Mathur

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have suggested taking a tablet of Forcan 150 mg on alternate days for six days. Use Surfaz-sn ointment for local applications.

Thank you.
