Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I recently had unprotected sex and I had my last period four months ago. I had sexual intercourse three days after my periods. I took a contraceptive pill after that. Should I continue taking the pill, and is it possible that I might become pregnant? I am so anxious.

Thank you

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com

I fully understand your concern and will surely help you. Although the pill is not exactly an emergency contraceptive pill in a few cases the patients use it in a particular pattern to get the desired results and to prevent an unplanned pregnancy. I request you to share the details as to what time you took the pills after the unprotected intercourse. Further, based on your period date, it is highly unlikely that you would have ovulated at the time of intercourse, so there is less chance of pregnancy. Do not worry as I am always there for you.

Thank you.
