Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am not taking any medication currently. I was on Omeprazole as my doctor thought it was gastrointestinal-related. Basically, my shoulders, pectorals, and thoracic or cervical area have been bothering me daily for two months. My doctor had me take an EKG in case it was heart-related but it came out perfectly fine. That was two months. The cardiologist said it is most likely a muscular or skeletal issue. Any thoughts? Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Sometimes muscular problems may cause pain in the chest and upper back. Repetitive use or overuse of multiple muscle groups, for example through activities such as rowing, can lead to aching pain in the chest, back, or chest wall. I would like to know more if you have any burning in your chest, difficulty in breathing, and your daily activities to conclude what is the exact problem.
However, it may be only muscle-related or soft tissue that bothers us depending upon our activity, as the EKG is normal. You need not to worry about heart or pericardium issues. If your pectoralis minor or major is tight let me know so that I can suggest for best treatment according to your condition. Simple for now you can take Advil (Aceclofenac with Paracetamol) for 3 days daily once after food. Do let me know about your daily routine, breathing issues, or burning in your chest if any, also in case if you have any time-specific time that causes more pain.
I hope that you get your answer.
Please let me know if you need any help.
Thank you. Stay safe.
