My vagina is sore and itchy There is discharge too and this started after my period. The period lasted about 11 days and sex is painful. I was diagnosed with a hormonal imbalance a long time ago. Kindly help.

It is common in young ladies with hormonal imbalances and pre-or post periods. 2. Bacterial vaginitis: Greenish to grey discharge with a bad smell. Also, it can present with itchiness and pain during intercourse. 3. Trichomoniasis: Infection with Trichomonas vaginalis that causes red cervix and vaginal discharge. 4. Bacterial Infection or sexually transmitted disease: It has multiple causes like Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea.

Investigations to be done

Investigations to be done include: 1. High vaginal swabs and culture to detect the cause. 2. Vaginal examination.
