Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am an 18-year-old girl looking for some advice before potentially asking my parents to take me to the doctor for help. In the past, I have struggled with anxiety after starting high school, but in the past year, I have gotten a lot better after getting help and have little to no symptoms of the anxiety I once had. However, in recent months, I have had my first proper girlfriend, and I am very much in love with her. However, the problems arise when we spend time together. The morning when I wake up before going to see her, I feel very sick in my stomach, which is followed by gagging or usually vomiting. At random points during hanging out with her, I can feel this feeling again, and it is once again the same after I return home from seeing her, gagging and vomiting. Along with this, I have lost my appetite since starting to date her, and especially when with her, I have a constant feeling of fullness in my stomach. I am fully comfortable and not anxious around my girlfriend, as we are very happy together. Yet I have a feeling that these symptoms may have something to do with the anxiety I may still have. Thanks for your help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The symptoms that you have described may be gastritis which is purely coincidental with her meeting. I suggest you get an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy done at the earliest. You require a disciplined diet consisting of bland food with tablet Pantocid DSR (Domperidone and Pantoprazole) 40 mg prescribed in the morning daily half an hour before food for a period of six weeks.
You can review with me for further follow-up.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
