Is it safe to take Vyvanse for ADHD symptoms?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Is it safe to take Vyvanse 100 mg for ADHD symptoms?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Vyvanse (Lisdexamfetamine) is a stimulant. I basically do not approve giving stimulants to target ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder) symptoms. And the dosage 100 mg is way above safe dosing range.

One side effect to watch out for is motor tics or involuntary movements when you take such a dose. The occurrence of this side effect is dose-dependent and if it occurs, it means that you are using above the therapeutic dose.

Consult a psychiatrist online before taking such a dose.
