Medical Conditions - Posture And Balance

The body's alignment or position is termed posture, and balance is defined as sustenance of postural stability or equilibrium. Posture helps in aligning body segments in positions like supine, prone, sitting, and standing. It also helps in engaging voluntary movements and accidental disturbances. Static, standing, and sitting are the different types of postures. Any abnormal posture or loss in balance decreases performance and efficiency of movement and increases the chance of injuries.
