Medical Conditions - Postoperative Complication

Any unwanted and unintentional effect or problem following a surgical procedure is termed a post-operative complication. They are of three types: immediate, early, and late. Immediate complications occur soon after the procedure, like bleeding, pain, fever, shock, lung collapse, etc. Early complications occur a day or two of the procedure like secondary bleeding, nausea, vomiting, urinary tract infection, etc. Late effects occur after days of the procedure, like infection, scarring, etc. Although significant attention and methods to prevent any complications are carried out by the physicians, some difficulties occur unavoidably.
