Inflammation of the membranous covering of the brain and spinal cord along with the fluids is termed meningitis, which can be bacterial, viral, fungi, or parasitic in origin. Symptoms include sudden fever, stiff neck, dizziness, seizures, confusion, loss of appetite, headache, photophobia, skin rashes, etc. Vaccines are available to prevent some of their bacterial variants. Treatment involves treating the cause along with specific antimicrobial medications.
