Medical Conditions - Acl Injury

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) connects the femur (thigh bone) to the tibia (shin bone). Tear in this ligament leads to an ACL injury in sports activities like jumping and landing in basketball, soccer, skiing, etc. Symptoms include pain, swelling, instability, and inability to move the leg. Adequate rest and painkillers can resolve minor injury and pain. Surgery may be needed in case of a major injury.
