Sulfamethoxazole is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections, urinary tract infections, prostatitis, and bronchitis. It is used along with Trimethoprim to work efficiently. It is effective against certain bacteria such as Listeria monocytogenes and Escherichia coli.
