Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was abandoned by my parents when I was young. Also, I did not have any friends at school and was always a loner. I have always yearned for love and care, which has put me into depression during my higher studies. I started to smoke, drink, and do drugs when I was 19 years old, which spoilt my health. Now, I cannot live without these three habits. I am destroying my life. Why does everyone perceive me as bad? Also, how do I help myself come out of this situation?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and would be happy to help. As you were deprived of love and affection, it is normal to deviate from your everyday life and get into habits that create a diversion. However, it is not a good practice, and you should understand that you are spoiling your health and life by using these substances. You can live without them. I suggest you take counseling and treatment to help overcome your problems.

I hope this helps.

Do get back in case of further questions.

Thank you.
