Rubber Band Technique

The rubber band technique is a type of aversion therapy method advised by psychotherapy specialists. It helps to train the brain at a subconscious level to avoid an urge or trigger for bad behavior or stressful thoughts. One may be asked to place a rubber band around the wrist and when the urge for the stimulus to be avoided kicks in, lightly snap it to cause some discomfort.
