Postpartum thyroiditis is a rare and temporary problem affecting women after pregnancy. It causes both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. It is caused due to the antithyroid antibodies causing thyroid inflammation. The initial phase occurs from 1 to 8 months after childbirth. Weight loss, anxiety, and hair loss are some symptoms seen.
