I wanted to talk about my mental health. I become very weak whenever I listen to any negative thought about life. Kindly help.

I went through your query regarding the mental health condition you are suffering. I suggest you to consult a psychologist or a psychiatrist for this. But I would suggest a few things you can follow that will help you overcome this situation.

  1. Always find small ways to be of help to others.
  2. Find workable goals that give you a sense of accomplishment.
  3. Schedule pleasant activities or events.
  4. Exercise and eat healthy foods.
  5. Focus on people who encourage you.
  6. Try to keep a regular sleep cycle. Though it is hard, but you can give it a try.
  7. Visualize happy memories.
  8. Make plans.

As you practice these coping skills, know that you are on the path to overcome depression. In contrast, depression lingers when patients explain why they cannot do these things. No matter what medication you take, doing several of these activities daily, especially when you do not feel like it, is vital to treating depression. These positive coping skills may take time and practice, but if we do not take the time to be well now, the periods of “unwellness” may be forced upon us later.
