Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am struggling with what and when to eat at the moment. I am a 22-year-old and female of height 5"2 and weigh 12.7 st. I am unhappy with my weight and having a lot of trouble figuring out whether I should eat three healthy meals per day or eat healthily whenever I am hungry. I rarely feel hungry, so I would manage fine on maybe one meal a day, but I am afraid of gaining weight that way. I am unsure of what I should do. I am also doing 30 minutes low impact cardio exercise daily to help reduce my weight. Kindly help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The good thing about you is you are exercising for 30 minutes daily. I advise you to add weight training for atleast three days per week. It will help you shape your body, gain muscle strength, shape your body, and increase bone strength. It will also help in burning calories the whole day. So, this is the first thing you need to change. Now about the diet part, I need more details about your daily food intake. To lose fat, you have to be calory deficient, which means burning more than what you eat. Try to eat a balanced nutritional meal. Avoid fatty food, fried food, and sugar. Your food should be balanced with fat, carbohydrates, and protein. Also, drink four liters of water every day. Sound sleep for six to eight hours is a must for fat loss. As per your height, your weight should be around 50 to 52 kg. With a customized diet chart and exercise routine, you can easily gain your fitness and desired figure. You are beautiful the way you are. Love yourself more and start your journey towards fitness. I hope this was helpful.
