Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For a few years, I have been eating within the calorie requirement. However, I am noticing weight gain only in the lower part of my body, and my upper body is thin. Can you kindly suggest ways to reduce my lower body weight?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. To analyze about your waist size increase, I need more information about your lifestyle and other related health concerns. For now, I can give you general information about fat deposition in the lower body. Lifestyle plays a major role, like the daily activity and whether the lifestyle is sedentary or active. Also, health issues can affect the metabolism. Even a few calories that are taken extra per day, and not burned get deposited in the body in the form of fat. Fat deposition occurs commonly in the stomach region, thighs, hands, and in face in the form of double chin. I suggest you do some basic exercises like walking, yoga, or body stretches for at least 45 minutes per day. You can also go for a full body checkup once a year.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
